As I reported on these pages yesterday, Austria became the first European country to mandate covid-19 jabs for every citizen. From February next year, Austrians who cannot show that they have been jabbed face hefty fines and other as yet unspecified consequences.
Police in Vienna are gearing up for a massive protest in the city today. It is expected that at least 10,000 protesters will take to the streets and things could turn ugly quickly. According to The Telegraph:
Police in Vienna were on high alert on Friday with 1,300 officers on standby, while intelligence services warned that anti-vaccine activists planned to invade hospitals in protest against the measures.
Mr Schallenberg blamed the unvaccinated for forcing their fellow citizens back into lockdown.
“We are demanding a lot from the vaccinated people in this country, because the unvaccinated people have not shown solidarity,” he said.
Herbert Kickl, leader of Austria’s FPO Party, didn’t mince words in his response to the news that every Austrian would be compelled to have the jabs. “As of today, Austria is a dictatorship,” he said.
Mass protests against tyrants are a good thing, until everyone packs up and heads home. Long-time Richie Allen Show listeners have heard me beat that drum before. It’s all very well to paint your placards, polish your megaphones and congregate outside city hall to speak your truth, but it changes nothing. It is what is expected of you.
“What the hell do you propose then Baldy?” I hear you cry. I’ve answered that question too many times.
Incidentally, if the Austrian media is claiming that 10,000 are expected to march in Vienna today, it probably means that the numbers will be much higher. The media is nothing if not consistent.
