Oh, the irony. A succession of BBC presenters took to the airwaves this morning to pay tribute to a Russian journalist who denounced the invasion of Ukraine on the country’s most-watched news show.
Marina Ovsyannikova walked into the middle of a live news show, stood behind the anchor and told viewers:
“Stop the War! Don’t believe the propaganda. They’re lying to you here!”
She held up a placard displaying her message too. She was detained and questioned and as of this morning, appears to be confined to house-arrest pending a hearing.
The virtue-signalling on BBC radio and television channels was quite something to behold today. Radio 5 Live Breakfast presenters Rick Edwards and Rachel Burden couldn’t help themselves, describing the Russian journalist as “heroic” and “brave,” for standing up to her tyrannical government.
Nicky Campbell went a step further. After the breakfast crew had handed over to the former Top Of The Pops presenter, he described Ms. Ovsyannikova as “inspirational!”
Inspirational Nicky? Really? This woman has inspired you has she? How?
Has she inspired you by her refusal to be used like a cheap whore by her government? Do you admire her for telling The Kremlin; “No, I will not peddle your lies and misinform my audience any longer?”
Have you lost your sense of irony Nicky? I mean, a BBC presenter, praising a journalist for holding her government to account and declaring that to be inspirational, that’s pretty ironic, right?
Where the fuck were you these past two years Nicky?
I’ll remind you. You were peddling lies and disinformation on behalf of your government, wanton propaganda that has killed God knows how many people and ruined the lives of millions.
You rinsed and repeated every official press release on covid-19 and never challenged a fucking word of it. You told your listeners (and ridiculed those who dared to dissent) that the jabs were safe and had been properly trialled. Didn’t you Nicky?
You know the jabs I mean, right? The jabs that have killed tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of people around the world, people who trusted “journalists” like you to do your job and ask the tough questions. Eh, Nicky?
Rather than ask any questions at all, you preferred instead to tell us that you had a favourite covid scientist. If I recall, it was Jonathan Van Tam, another fucking goon. Did it occur to you for even one second, that your job was to tear into these harbingers of doom and scrutinise them to the nth degree?
Apparently not. People died. Some people died alone in care homes. Some committed suicide. Tens of thousands died because they were denied life-saving treatment, when the NHS became the CHS. Others were killed by the jabs. That’s still happening.
You bear some of the responsibility. You didn’t do your job.
And today you have the gall to pay homage to a woman who walked onto a live show and said “I refuse to be used by my government, to spread fear and propaganda.”
