Greta Thunberg has led a group of climate change activists in a chorus of “You can shove your climate crisis up your arse.” Is she saying that there is no climate crisis, that it’s all a load of old bollox?
Maybe not. Earlier, she had hundreds of her disciples chanting “No more blah blah blah” over and over again. It reminded me of a scene from Omen III, when Damian, played by Sam Neill, addressed his satanic disciples from a natural amphitheatre on an island somewhere.
Watching Greta’s followers gaze adoringly at her and repeat everything she says, is just as spooky. The kids really believe this nonsense you see. Climate anxiety is a real phenomenon. On a Radio 5 Live phone-in last week, some parents said that their kids were petrified by the idea that the collapse of civilisation is imminent.
Naturally, none of the mums or dads were angry at the media and the government for filling their kids heads with apocalyptic visions for which there is no evidence whatsoever. Instead, they raged at the establishment for not listening to the children and taking action to save the planet!
