China has asked the US government if it has been developing bioweapons inside Ukraine. At a press conference yesterday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian claimed that his country had information that the Pentagon is running weapons labs in Ukraine, and that it is “the tip of the iceberg.”

China’s foreign ministry has called on the US to disclose information on the Pentagon’s alleged biological laboratories in Ukraine “as soon as possible”.
On Monday, the Russian military said Ukrainian authorities had been destroying pathogens studied at its laboratories. Moscow claimed that 30 US-financed Ukrainian biolabs have been actively cooperating with the American military.
Kiev has denied developing bioweapons. According to the website of the US embassy in Kiev, the US Department of Defense’s Biological Threat Reduction Program only “collaborates with partner countries to counter the threat of outbreaks” of infectious diseases. In 2020, the embassy called such theories about US-funded biolabs in Ukraine “disinformation.”
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, however, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian claimed that, according to his country’s information, the laboratories in Ukraine are just “a tip of an iceberg” and that the US Department of Defense “controls 336 biological laboratories in 30 countries around the world.” This is done under the pretext of “cooperating to reduce biosecurity risks” and “strengthening global public health,” Zhao said.
It is the first time that Beijing has disclosed the alleged figure. Zhao said that according to data “released by the United States itself,” there are 26 US laboratories in Ukraine. In light of Russia’s military offensive in the country, he urged “all parties concerned” to ensure the safety of the labs.
Is any of that true? Who knows? Probably. Maybe. It’s bollox. There’s so much propaganda, it’s almost impossible to determine what’s true and what isn’t.
The US has 800 military bases in more than 70 countries. Of course, it’s possible that it has been sponsoring bioweapons research in Ukraine.
The irony of course, is that the US has been indirectly (or directly, depending on who you believe) funding gain of function research on coronaviruses in Wuhan China, since 2014.

Dr (Tony) Fauci, as well as being an adviser to President Biden, is the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the US government’s National Institutes of Health (NIH)
This body did give money to an organisation that collaborated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
That organisation – the US-based EcoHealth Alliance – was awarded a grant in 2014 to look into possible coronaviruses from bats.
EcoHealth received $3.7m from the NIH, $600,000 of which was given to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
In 2019, its project was renewed for another five years, but then pulled by the Trump administration in April 2020 following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
I’d love to ask the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman about Tony Fauci and the weaponizing of viruses in China. I’m not sure he’d answer me though.
