COP26 is taking place in Glasgow. World leaders have convened in a last ditch effort to save the planet from global warming. It’s one gigantic farce of course and not just because the Russians and the Chinese have stayed at home. There is no climate crisis.
Today will see speeches from the big-hitters, the Presidents and Prime Ministers who have travelled to Glasgow. And Prince Charles, old jug ears himself, will speak. He’s expected to warn us that we need to be on a war-like footing to save Mother Earth.
You can expect a lot of that type of hyperbole over the next twelve days. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has already said that humanity is at “one minute to midnight,” and we haven’t heard the demon child speak yet. She’s not scheduled to address the conference but the media is following her everywhere. She’ll be heard.
According to The Telegraph this morning:
The Prince will tell leaders at the Cop26 climate summit of the need for a “vast military-style campaign to marshal the strength of the global private sector with trillions at its disposal”.
Calling on delegates to engage proactively with business, he will speak of the urgency now facing the planet by saying: “We have to put ourselves on what might be called a war-like footing”.
On Sunday he spoke at the G20 in Rome, and hailed a new “digital ID” to keep track of the fashion industry’s sustainable credentials.
The Prince met with the chief executives of the world’s biggest fashion houses to learn about how they are making their brands more sustainable – from low-carbon leather to jackets stuffed with material recycled from mattresses.
Extinction Rebellion, Friends of The Earth, Greenpeace and tens of thousands of Greta’s young disciples have descended on Glasgow to demand the decarbonisation of the planet.
This would of course turn the planet into an open air prison, where everything you eat, everything you wear, how you heat your home, where you can travel and what you can and cannot say, will be controlled by the state through a system of social credit.
By the time we reach 2050 or even 2070 and the zealots realise that the planet has continued to warm anyway, it’ll be too late. Do you really think that at that stage they’ll say, “Shit we were wrong. Here, have your freedom back.”
