GP David Lloyd claimed this morning that 1.5 million people in the UK are effectively smothering with covid-19. Lloyd was speaking to SKY News stalwart Kay Burley. He said:
“There are one and a half million active cases in the UK at the moment, so numbers are down, but deaths are going up and one and a half million people are coughing and spluttering and have lost their sense of taste and smell. That’s what the reality is at the moment”
Did Burley take the open goal? Did she jump all over Lloyd and cry “bullshit”?
You’d have thought so, especially as 24 hours earlier, Burley was humiliated after failing to challenge an NHS boss who claimed that there are now 14 times more people in hospital than there were in November 2020.
But no, Kay flashed Lloyd a cheeky little smile and replied:
“Hmm..so people need to have jabs, they need to have their booster? I was chatting to the Health Secretary…..he was saying if you’re not fully vaccinated you’re going to lose your job as part of the NHS. Are you completely behind him saying that?”
“I’m afraid I am,” said Lloyd. Good boy David.
These days you can say whatever you want on a television news show, so long as it is pro jab, pro facemasks and pro vaccine passports. In fact, the more outrageous your claims, the less likely you are to be challenged.
The claim that 1.5 million people are coughing, spluttering and missing their sense of taste and smell really is horseshit. The great majority of those who test positive for covid after taking the debunked PCR test are feeling perfectly healthy right now.
