Tory Steve Baker Tells Bojo “End Lockdown Soon Or Face Leadership Challenge!”

Former Brexit Minister Steve Baker warned Boris Johnson this afternoon, that his days are numbered if he doesn’t change tactics and stop putting the country back in lockdown. The Conservative MP for Wycombe said that the PM must lay out an exit strategy that guarantees the country will not be in lockdown this Winter. Baker is a member of The Covid Recovery Group, a bunch of Tory backbenchers that have been pushing for an alternative to lockdowns. Baker said that if there isn’t a change of approach soon, then it is “inevitable” that Johnson’s leadership will be “on the table.”

In a letter to Conservative Party Colleagues, Baker wrote:

Government has adopted a strategy devoid of any commitment to liberty without any clarification about when our most basic freedoms will be restored and with no guarantee that they will never be taken away again. People are telling me they are losing faith in our Conservative Party leadership because they are not standing up for our values as a party. If we continue forward with a strategy that hammers freedom, hammers the private sector, hammers small business owners and hammers the poor, inevitably the Prime Minister’s leadership will be on the table: we strongly do not want that after all we have been through as a country.

Baker seems to have backed down somewhat this evening. He Tweeted:

What this country needs is the complete success of Boris Johnson, with his excellent EU deal, a successful vaccination programme and a #Road2Recovery back to freedom. I am clear Boris is the only person to lead us out of these difficulties and I support him in that endeavour.

Baker’s problem of course, is that the majority of his own party support the Prime Minister. The Labour Party, under Baby Blair Keir Starmer, are demanding even tougher measures and the media exists only to criticise government ministers for not locking down sooner. When restrictions remain in place even after the so-called vulnerable are vaccinated, as they undoubtedly will, more Tories might break ranks and put pressure on Boris Johnson to abandon lockdowns. We can only hope.

I think the lockdown is killing far more people than covid will with all the mental ilness , and ofcourse the virus is going to mutate as are bodies are not fighting it we are to busy in hiding.

Dan Aston Gregory aka Dan J Gregory has a podcast called Make Lockdowns History he has with a group of academic professionals have looked at the data regarding Covid you should listen to his latest podcasts very interesting I pray Mr Baker and others in Government who have concerns would meet with this group to see their findings which do not match up with what Sage says about the data

Wonder what he was offered( or threatened with) to change his tune. Do the public not know what the alien whitty has said a few days ago, basically to expect these lockdowns and all the other nonsensical rules to be in place at years end; Richie we know this will go on for years that’s the plan, On a brighter note, I seen the restaurant owners in Belgium have said they are opening up on the first of next month, they said they have had enough, they will all open at the same time, I think the government will try and buy them off, hope they tell them to shove it where the sun don’t shine, it could inspire other business owners in all countries to follow suit. Richie I have took on board what the great Peter Ebdon said about the thoughts we have about johnson, hancock, krankie and the rest of them, I cant lie the thoughts I had about these people when I seen them or heard them was making me unwell, more negative energy than a davos sit down with uncle klaus, so I dropped the hate and trust that they will pay for their crimes in due course, even more important, I just don’t listen to them anymore, just turn the volume down, I feel much more positive already, so a big thank you to Peter for that. The guy Cristian made a great point the other night, what if we are indeed the majority, it’s just that too many people that have been silent so far feel isolated and alone but if that changes it could be the spark we need to defeat these monsters, a great point I hope he is right.

Why have the Conservatives brought the economy of the UK to its knees when they should have protected the elderly and those medically challenged and let the rest of us get on with it?
