A Dashing Dr. Vernon Coleman Fighting For Patient Privacy In 1981!

Dr. Vernon Coleman is best known these days, for his brilliant “Old Man In A Chair” series, which is hosted by Brand New Tube. It used to be uploaded to YouTube, until the platform began to delete his episodes as a matter of policy. It didn’t matter that what he was saying was true. It’s a terrific series. If you haven’t come across it, get on it. Vernon is a former practicing GP and best-selling author. He has written syndicated columns for national newspapers and appeared on thousands of television and radio programmes. opining on everything from medical matters and animal rights to geopolitics. He is a medical expert.

The great Peter Ebdon, former World Snooker Champion and great mate of The RA Show, turned me onto Dr. Vernon last year. I had heard of him of course, who hasn’t, but I wasn’t aware that he was taking on the Covid-19 narrative. I invited him on and he graciously accepted. Since then he has joined me regularly, to offer some balance and an alternative perspective on the government’s coronavirus measures. He shouldn’t have to come on with me to be heard of course. It’s a stain on our national media that they would ignore such an experienced doctor and journalist.

Back in 1981, Vernon was coming under pressure from the medical authorities here. Indeed he was fined by the Department of Health and Social Security (DHSS) for refusing to write diagnoses on sick notes. “It’s an egregious breach of confidentiality” he said at the time, before tendering his resignation. How fantastically admirable. I love this old ITV clip of Dr. Vernon Coleman, speaking up for the rights of his patients. He relinquished his license, of his own volition of course, five years ago, but continues to advocate for our right to privacy and body autonomy to this day.
