I love The Freedom Convoy. I’ve not spoken to a single trucker, but I’ve been watching the situation carefully and with an open mind of course. Thousands of trucks and tens of thousands of truckers set out for Ottawa on January 22nd, arriving in the city a week later.
Their cause is righteous. They oppose vaccine and mask mandates and tyrannical restrictions that have destroyed lives and livelihoods. Theirs is an entirely peaceful protest. The convoy has no political affiliation.
The truckers and their supporters are united by their belief in the freedom of the individual to decide what medicines to take. Party politics has been cast aside. State sponsored tyranny has brought every race, colour and creed together in unity. It’s a thing of beauty.
We’re witnessing non-violent civil disobedience in action and the convoy has the Canadian government on the run. They’ve taken everything the government has thrown at them and they’re still standing.
They’ve been assaulted with ultrasonic weapons. They’ve had their funding cut off. The authorities in Ottawa have tried to deny them access to fuel and food. Their supporters have been threatened with huge fines and imprisonment. The media has been against them from day one.
Lately, the Canadian government has been waging a propaganda war on the truckers. Prime Minister Trudeau has labelled the protesters far-right, racist, white-supremacist, antisemitic and Islamophobic.
Government mouthpieces have said that the truckers are Q-Anon devotees and that they’re directly connected to the protesters who stormed the Capitol in DC last year.
All of this is horseshit of course. It’s also kind of funny. Today, the truckers have been accused of trying to bring about “regime-change” in Canada. That’s what the country’s Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino told reporters yesterday. It’s all a bit desperate.
What will they accuse the truckers of next? The Kennedy assassination? The disappearance of Shergar? Jimmy Hoffa? Childhood obesity? Who knows?
Trudeau has invoked the emergencies act. He’s determined to make life as unbearable for the truckers as possible.
I hope they stand firm. Godspeed to them.
