Ticket Site Pulls Gender-Critical Events & Accuses Women Of Spreading Hate

The ticketing site Eventbrite has been accused of waging a campaign of cancellation against women after it pulled the tickets for a number of gender-critical events.

According to The Telegraph:

Eventbrite was being used to organise the launch of a book about the threat to feminism posed by gender ideology.

However, its trust and safety team suddenly refunded all the tickets to the feminist gathering and deleted the listing.

The launch for Defending Women’s Spaces, written by Karen Ingala Smith, has “ironically” become the latest in a string of gender-critical events to have tickets pulled by Eventbrite.

It was claimed that its US-based trust and safety team was silencing critical discussion of gender ideology, a term referring to the view that self-identified gender takes precedence over biological sex.

Woman’s Place UK organised the book launch. Judith Green, the campaign group’s co-founder, told The Telegraph:

“It is outrageous and grimly ironic that two of this country’s pre-eminent feminist campaigners against male violence against women should be the subject of cancellation on an entirely bogus pretext.”

The event, scheduled for Nov 24, will be hosted by author Julie Bindel, who will interview Smith about her book, which warns about the continued threat of violence against women and the need for single-sex environments.

But on Wednesday evening, ticket holders were suddenly refunded their tickets, all trace of the launch was removed from the Eventbrite website, and organisers were informed by Eventbrite’s trust and safety team that the event violated policies on “hateful, dangerous, or violent content”.

Elsewhere, in Nottingham, a film screening for Adult Human Female, a documentary critiquing gender ideology and women’s rights issues, had its tickets pulled and its listing deleted by Eventbrite.

All organisers were given the exact same message about “hateful, dangerous” content by the Eventbrite trust and safety team, which described itself as a “small group with diverse backgrounds” that “serves a critical role in allowing our community to experience Eventbrite in a way that fosters trust, safety, diversity, and inclusiveness”.
