Trans Women Are Not Women – Enough Now.

The excellent Sue Reid, writing in today’s Daily Mail reports:

“I have talked to council employees, shop workers, firefighters, teachers and successful businesspeople who have broken the woke rules and found their jobs threatened, their livelihoods at risk, and personal worlds turned upside down. Often after a word was uttered out of place and by mistake. Increasingly, woke-aware employers are sacking workers after receiving a complaint about what they have said or written.”

Reid highlighted the case of Margaret, a Suffolk based pensioner who was contacted by the Police, because they had been tipped off that she’d committed a hate crime on Twitter. She had posted her opinion, that we die the same sex we are born. And in response to a post that stated “Trans women ARE women fact”, she replied: ‘These absurd beliefs are nonsensical and deny the evidence to the contrary.” That’s when the police called her, before backing off and apologising. That was two years ago. Margaret, a 76 year old former teacher, is in trouble again.

Margaret’s Twitter account was followed by a drinks firm called Innocent, which is owed by Coca-Cola. An anonymous user called Andrew, demanded that Innocent explain why its account was following a “clear transphobe!” You’d imagine the person running Innocent’s account ignored it, or muted Andrew right?

Wrong. Innocent declared that Margaret’s comments on trans people were out of line with “our values on inclusivity and respect.” The company went on to say said that there was a duty “on all of us” to make sure” everyone can live happy, free lives in a world where that is a reality.” What bollox. The idiot who contacted the drinks company, Andrew, has 45 followers and gloated that he had gotten the firm to publicly chastise Margaret.

Someone called Rusti, posting on The Richie Allen Show Facebook page last week said, and I paraphrase, “when did live and let live change to requiring us to make some sort of public declaration of support for trans people and their rights?” Great question Rusti. It’s no longer good enough to shrug your shoulders and say to each his own, as we’ve always done. We meant it too. There’s a binary choice. As far as the trans issue goes, the binary choice is simple.

You either believe that people can be born in the wrong body or you don’t. You must choose one or the other. “Silence is violence” according to trans-activists. “You do believe I am a woman right?”, they ask. “Live and let live” says you. Not good enough. Binary choice. You must take a side. To say that you don’t believe that a man is in the wrong body and is in fact a woman, can have serious consequences now. You might even be arrested.

You can expect to be asked binary choice questions in job interviews in the near future, as firms become obsessed with inclusivity. “Yes, you’ve a great show-reel Richie and some cracking references. Thanks for coming in. Just before you go, can we ask you if you believe that transwomen are women?” “Ermm….no I don’t and I never will. I won’t be expecting your call then.”

“Silence is violence” is a dangerous paradigm shift. We’ve heard it a lot since Black Lives Matter arrived in our lives. Social Justice Warriors use it with increasing regularity. “Silence is violence” they proclaim. You must make a public stand, with BLM, or transgenders or whatever is trending this week. You cannot keep your own counsel. To say nothing is to have something to hide. It’s nothing short of tyrannical.

I’ve known some trans women in my time. I’ve always felt sorry for them, not that they needed or wanted my sympathy. But I’m an empath. There but for the grace of God and all that. Of course I’ll use the pronoun you prefer. How could it hurt me? That’s how it used to be and to be clear, most older trans-folk are aghast at what is happening now and want nothing to do with it.

Pressure groups like Mermaids and others are putting the lives and wellbeing of real women and girls in danger. That’s irrefutable. Maybe it’s time for the silent majority to give these fascists what they want. Here’s my binary choice.

I believe with all my heart that you should be allowed to live as you want to live and be treated with the same civility and courtesy as anyone else in society. You should never be discriminated against on the basis of your identity, especially when it comes to education and employment.

But trans women are not women. You should never be allowed access to female only spaces.  Neither should you expect to be short-listed for a role that has been reserved for a woman. You are not a woman. Don’t expect the rest of us to use ridiculous phrases like chest-feeding, birthing parent or cisgender to include you. Enough is enough now.
