Dave Chappelle On Trans Row: “I’m Not Bending To Anyone!”

Good man Dave Chappelle. The comedian is taking the fight straight to the cancel culture mob. Chapelle’s latest Netflix special was criticised by some trans rights groups. During the performance, Chappelle said that “gender is a fact” and that LGBT people are “too sensitive.”

The snowflakes screams were heard around the world. Well, heard on Twitter mostly. Some Netflix employees staged a walk-out in a show of solidarity with their trans and LBGT chums. Netflix should have summarily sacked every one of them. I would have and I’m a died in the wool trade-unionist. But fuck ’em. They need to be taught a lesson. Free speech matters.

Chappelle dropped a video on his Instagram account last night. It was a clip from his Sunday night stand-up performance in Kentucky. According to the BBC:

He appeared at the show alongside popular podcaster Joe Rogan.

“It’s been said in the press that I was invited to speak to transgender employees at Netflix and I refused,” Chappelle, 48, told the audience.

“That is not true. If they had invited me I would have accepted it. Although I am confused about what we are speaking about… You said you want a safe working environment at Netflix. Well it seems like I’m the only one that can’t go to the office anymore.”

“To the transgender community, I am more than willing to give you an audience,” he continued. “But you will not summon me. I am not bending to anybody’s demands.”

He also denied that he was in conflict with the LGBT community, saying “this has nothing to do with them. It’s about corporate interests and what I can say and what I cannot say.”

Attaboy Dave. Bend to no-one. I believe that biological sex matters too. Biological sex is real. Nobody is born in the wrong body. It’s pseudo-scientific claptrap.

There is no such thing as a Shemale or a trans-man or trans-woman. But gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia are very real.

Worryingly, but unsurprisingly, Netflix executives are back-pedalling furiously. Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos has only gone and apologised for how he handled internal dissent from employees, saying: “I screwed up.”

He screwed up by not firing them. Grow a pair Ted, no pun intended.
