Scotland’s First Minister said today that failure to tackle climate change risks life on earth becoming “unrecognisable” and that this would be a “betrayal of young people around the world.”
Nicola Sturgeon was speaking of COP26, which will begin in Glasgow this Sunday. Sturgeon told a press conference this morning:
“The hard fact is this: ‘Keeping 1.5 alive’ – which has become the strapline almost for Cop26 – is vital. It mustn’t become a face-saving slogan. It must be real. Both in the run-up to and at Cop itself, there needs to be a significant uplift in ambition from the world’s biggest-emitting countries to make that real.
Each and every country gathered round the negotiating table also knows the action that is needed to prevent it. So there is not excuse for failing to act.”
At the same time, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was speaking at a children’s press conference. The children are in charge now you see, led by the Karaoke Queen of the Asperger’s. WWF UK’s Tanya Steele was sitting alongside Johnson. She said:
“I think we need to bring nature back. Our planet, 97 per cent of the mass of mammals on this planet is humans and our animals, our domestic animals. Just three per cent is left for the wild.”
Johnson said that this was “so sad” and that “we could feed some of the human beings to the animals.”
What fuckery.
Life on Planet Earth will not become unbearable, nor will Earth become uninhabitable, whether the global mean temperature rises by 2.5 or even 4 degrees. It’s a lie.
We’re still emerging from the last Ice Age. The warming, if indeed there is any, is natural and there’s nothing human beings can do about it. You know what’s absent from every single climate change model and from every single academic climate change paper?
The sun. That’s right. Look it up. According to these bonkers boffins, the sun has nothing to do with regulating temperatures on Earth.
Sturgeon is right about one thing though. Life will become unrecognisable on Earth, but only if the climate zealots get their way.
